Victor Osimhen Exits European Football For Big Oil Money in Saudi Arabia!

This move will definitely be the extinction of the great name ‘Victor Osimhen’ which has been sung on the lips of many football fans, pundits, journalists, coaches, football administrators, and lovers of good strikers across the globe.

This would be an exit of a star Chelsea FC England offered so much money, but he chose too much money at this point.

Osimhen’s rise to world football fame came when he helped Napoli FC of Italy break a jinx in 2023 and became the highest goal scorer for that club in the same season. He ended the year as the African Player of the Year and finished top 5 contestants for World Footballer of the Year.

The Nigerian striker’s achievements were obvious because he was able to be consistently on top of his game in top European leagues. Many believed this player had the talent to become the best striker in the world.

Is this move going to extinct the player from the top strikers list in the world in the next years? Absolutely, yes. *There is money to make in Saudi Arabia but not good football to enjoy on a high level.* Osimhen’s move continues to show the love of money rather than the love for a competitive career.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in Saudi, Neymar Jnr., Sadio Mane, and others. Why not Victor Osimhen now? These players were all in their career primes and had reached the highest and best before setting out for the Big Cash.

As far as striking abilities, we are surely going to see less of that from the striker. We will only frequently see how he chooses to enjoy his money and play less high-level football.

For some of us who felt the young player had the talent to become the best striker in the world, we do know Africa has lost a great football talent again.

His return to a European big league can still happen, but we will never expect him to give anything special at that point.

His hope will only be affixed to his performance with the Super Eagles of Nigeria to keep his international star status going. The Super Eagles of Nigeria are currently dwindling in form and might miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The true search for the next Victor Osimhen has to begin. The 25-year-old Nigerian player has decided to cash out on his career so early with this move to Saudi Arabia.
