Lobi Stars delivered a commendable performance in their 2024/2025 NPFL matchday 6 encounter against Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna. 

Despite early pressure from the hosts, Ossy Martins nearly broke the deadlock in the 36th minute but was denied by a defensive block. The first half ended goalless, with Lobi Stars’ captain, Daniel Atsaka, standing tall in goal.

In the second half, debuting Technical Adviser Daniel Amokachi made decisive changes in the 58th minute, bringing on Ahmadu Liman and Suur Kumaga. 

The impact was immediate, as Ossy Martins netted in the 61st minute after a slick assist from Liman. 

However, Niger Tornadoes found an equalizer in the 90th minute, leaving the game tied at 1-1.

In an interview with journalist shortly after the match, Amokachi praised his team’s efforts, saying, he was impressed with their performances.

“I’m very impressed with what I saw; it’s a process, and we’ll get it right soon.” 

The Alia Boys now prepare for their midweek clash against El Kanemi Warriors in Lafia, this Wednesday.
