NPFL REFEREES BREAK AN OFFICIATING RECORD EARLY INTO THE NPFL 2024/2024 SEASON

NPFL fans across Nigeria were struck with shock as results not seeming to be coming from a Nigerian league were displayed across every league venue after full time.

It seemed the NPFL referees were living up to a challenge set by the Nigerian Referees Association, and were ready to send a signal to their mockers who seemed to be football stakeholders, coaches, players, football fans, and fellow officiating colleagues.

Do we call this a revival in our local football? Definitely, we do know the numerous complaints been sung across league venues week in and out. This will definitely strengthen the league.

NPFL Week 3 will go down the record, and lovers of fair officiating across Nigeria and abroad will definitely keep these records. Results poured out as no one could predict as coming from the NPFL.

The results meant no single away team lost 3 points in a game last weekend.
Lobi Stars 0 – 1 Rivers United
Nasarawa 3 – 4 Elkanemi
Plateau United 1 – 2 Niger Tornadoes
Kwara United 0 – 0 Ikorodu City
Sunshine Stars 0 – 0 Abia Warriors
Kano Pillars 0 – 2 Remo Stars
Heartland 0 – 0 Katsina United

We hail all the referees who were in charge of these games as home fans across league venues were heard saying “if matches would be officiated in this manner then we would also be sure of winning our next away game.”

This is another big thumbs up to the NPFL Board led by Honorable Gbenga Elegbeleye.
